KIDA Self-Defense system is based mainly on Krav Maga. Krav Maga means contact combat in Hebrew. Krav Maga was created in the 1940’s by Imi Litchenfield (below right in photo), who was asked by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to create an effective self-defense system for military troops in Israel. Soldiers had to learn a self-defense system that was practical in combat; however, required little time to learn techniques. The IDF still requires soldiers to learn Krav Maga, and is taught to militaries and law enforcement agencies all over the world. Due to Krav Maga’s simplicity, effectiveness, and it was battle tested in real world situations, it is widely used by Special Forces and many military special operations and law enforcement units, worldwide. Civilian Krav Maga training is essentially based on the most common street attacks.
